Japan’s Nikkei 225 slipped 0.13% in a session marked by choppy trade, while the broader Topix index lost 0.22%. South Korea’s Kospi dropped 1.41%, and the small-cap Kosdaq retreated 1.86%, reflecting broader caution in the region. The mixed regional performance followed strong gains on Wall Street. A better-than-expected U.S. jobs report helped ease investor concerns about an economic slowdown and lifted major indexes to new record highs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 344.11 points, or 0.77%, to end at 44,828.53. The S&P 500 advanced 0.83% to 6,279.35, and the Nasdaq Composite jumped 1.02% to close at 20,601.10 — both setting fresh closing records.
