Australian markets are on holiday, which may affect liquidity on the open; however, most traders are expecting another busy day as markets react to Friday’s Non-Farm update and any fresh geopolitical updates from the weekend.

Tuesday also has very little on the calendar to move the dial across the trading sessions, with only tier 3 data scheduled for release.

It’s a similar story for the first two trading sessions on Wednesday before things pick up in the New York session. Key US CPI data is due out shortly after the open before attention then jumps north of the border for the Bank of Canada interest rate decision and updates. US Crude Oil inventory data is also due out later in the day.

The Asian session is again quiet on Thursday; however, the European Central Bank’s interest rate decision is due to dominate focus during the London session later in the day, where a 25-basis-point hike is priced in. The New York session then sees the key US PPI numbers released alongside the Weekly Unemployment Claims data.

It’s a quiet calendar day to close out the week on Friday, with the UK GDP data the only tier 1 event scheduled. The New York session has the Preliminary University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment and Inflation Expectations scheduled; however, again expect geopolitical updates to have an influence moving into the weekend.

[215
