The surge came after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 90-day pause on tariff hikes for all countries except China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Japan led the regional gains, with the Nikkei 225 jumping 8.35% and the broader Topix climbing 7.59%. South Korea\u2019s Kospi rose 5.38%, while the tech-heavy Kosdaq added 5.09%. Australia\u2019s S&amp;P\/ASX 200 followed with a 4.67% gain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investors are keeping a close eye on Chinese markets amid escalating trade tensions. The U.S. increased tariffs on Chinese imports to 125% in response to Beijing\u2019s plan to impose an 84% levy on American goods. Despite this, China\u2019s CSI 300 rose 1%, while Hong Kong\u2019s Hang Seng Index gained 1.92%, trimming earlier advances.
